2020 har varit ett fantastiskt givande år för Svensk Cricket och vi är verkligen spända över att få dela med oss av vad som händer med våra landslag, vår nya logga och hemsida, några detaljer över våra centrala projekt liksom informera er vad vår nye chefstränare Jonty Rhodes har haft för sig.
2021 kommer bli massivt! Är ni med oss?
Styrelsen har ordet
Vi lämnar nu 2020 bakom oss. Ett år som varit utmanande på många sätt men också haft en del positiva saker som ECN Tournament, Ladies Cup i Växjö, anställningen av Jonty Rhodes, nya anläggningar som invigts, ett positivt årsmöte med flera viktiga beslut och en massa ny verksamhet i våra klubbar som växer.
Nu blickar vi framåt mot 2021. SCF Styrelsen har under hösten arbetat med strategiska planer och budget för ungdomscricket, damcricket, SPL, UPL, Landslag, ECN, barn-och ungdomsverksamhet samt anläggningar. Även våra Ligaregler som måste godkännas av RF har varit högt upp på agendan.
Planering för seniorligan är på gång och styrelsen har som ambitioner att ladda upp spelschemat för 2021 i cricclub App redan i januari vilket gör att ni medlemsklubbar kan boka cricketplaner i god tid.
När det gäller budgeten för det seniora ligaspelet så har både RF och ICC gång på gång varnat SCF för att ligan inte får finansieras av deras ekonomiska stöd. Ligan måste vara självfinansierad. Vi har under hösten haft många möten med ICC gällande detta. För att hitta en bästa lösning för våra klubbar har vi nu strukturerat om ligaspelet, allt för att ni klubbar ska få så låg kostnad som möjligt. Men trots detta har styrelsen tagit beslut om att höja ligaavgiften för 2021. Vi kommer kalla till ett informationsmöte gällande all liga-verksamhet i mitten på januari.
Den nya strukturen leder till att man kan täcka ligakostnader till en stor del utan att höja ligaavgiften allt för mycket. SCF har inget val gällande detta då risken är väldigt stor att SCF blir av med sitt stöd från RF och ICC om vi inte kan visa på en självförsörjande liga.
SCF har redan fått beslut att vi kommer få minskat bidrag från ICC med 500k (2022), det på grund av att styrelsen för SCF (2018) inte använde RF:s bidrag på ett korrekt sätt, utan var tvungna att betala tillbaka pengar till RF. Ju mindre bidrag vi får från RF, desto mindre bidrag får vi från ICC.
Vi jobbar konstant med att få sponsorer och ett uppdrag som Jonty har är att göra Cricket till en mer synlig sport i Sverige, men i den rådande Corona situationen är det inte lätt, men vi har några sponsorer på gång som snart kommer att presenteras.
Vi välkomnar Jonty till SCF
Efter det att flyttlasset med hela familjen gått så är Jonty Rhodes nu redo att arbeta för att utveckla cricketsporten i Sverige. Han har redan påbörjat sitt arbete på distans under hösten 2020.
NÅGRA AV HANS UPPGIFTER ÄR FÖLJANDE:
• Att leda och utveckla vårt landslag.
• Att driva och skapa processen för landslag tillsammans med nuvarande coacher för landslaget och RSM.
• Planera ett tävlingsforum för er klubbar för att assistera i att utveckla sporten inom alla kategorier över hela Sverige. Vi planerar att bjuda in digitalt till detta Forum I slutet på januari.
• Att synliggöra Cricket i Sverige samt hjälpa till med att få sponsorer.
Han kommer också utveckla vår utbildningsverksamhet, vilket gör att ni alla har möjlighet att ta del av Jontys erfarenhet och kompetens, Jonty är tacksam för vårt tålamod med att det har tagit lite tid för honom och familjen att anpassa sig till sitt nya liv här I Sverige.
Vägen till landslaget
UPL är igång efter lysande arbete från personal and ungdomskommittén. 12 RSM har blivit utsedda och vår kick-off är schemalagd att starta i januari. Vilka som blir våra RSM kommer annonseras via hemsidan inom kort.
SPL håller på att planeras då ICC:s kvalificeringspooler för vårt manliga seniorlandslag har blivit offentliga.Vi samarbetar med de nordiska länderna för att skapa en internationell turnering för män, juniorer och kvinnor (om corona tillåter)
Damernas aktiviteter skissas på för 2021 med 3 stycken turneringar inom landet och en vision att ha fler än 10 klubbar med damlag tvärs över Sverige.Uttagningspolicy för landslagen är framtagen och finns att läsa här
Årsmötet
20 mars 2021
Den 20 mars 2021 är det dags för årsmöte. Alla klubbar som har varit medlemmar innan den 20 augusti 2020 och har betalt medlemsavgiften har rösträtt. Motioner ska skickas till SCF senast den 20 januari. All dokumentation kommer att presenteras på SCF hemsida senast 3 veckor innan årsmötet.
Ny logga och hemsida
Under de senaste månaderna så har vi upptäckt ett behov av att skapa en ny logga och grafisk profil. Loggan gestaltas nu i ett modernt och sportigt utseende som har en sorts rörelse/action, är lätt att läsa och förstå, uppvisar professionell designkvalitet och är internationellt gångbar.
Tillsammans med en översyn av en ny hemsida, som är redo att starta upp i kvartal 1- 2021, så är vi spända på att presentera svensk cricket i den nya kostymen.
Fakturor för medlemsavgiften
Medlemsavgiften beslutades av årsmötet till 3000:- / klubb. Fakturan kommer att skickas ut i mitten på januari 2021 och ska vara betald till mitten på februari.
COVID-19 och möjlighet att söka stöd för förlorade intäkter till klubben
Har ni förlorat intäkter till klubben under perioden 1/10 -31/12- 2020 pga. Inställd verksamhet eller evenemang pga. Corona så kan ni söka kompensationsstöd från RF. Ansökan görs på er Idrottonline sida under Idrottsmedel. Ansökan är öppen mellan den 15/1 – 26/1. Besked om stöd ges i slutet på februari.
Redovisning av projektstöd och prova-på aktiviteter senast 15 januari
De klubbar som beviljats bidrag för projekt som de ansökt om i Idrottonline ska redovisa det i Idrottonline senast den 15 januari.
De klubbar som genomfört någon prova-på aktivitet eller skolsamverkan ska redovisa det på den blankett som finns på hemsidan i dokumentbanken, senast den 15 januari.
Damcricket
Damkommittén har som ambition att hålla i minst 3 regionala turneringar under 2021. Deras vision är att det ska finnas fler än 10 klubbar som har damlag under 2021. De planerar också för coachutbildningar och domarutbildningar för damerna. Damlandslaget kommer också ha aktiviteter det kommande året.
Anläggningar
SCF arbetar strategiskt med att påverka och hjälpa klubbar för att få bättre förutsättningar för att spela Cricket.
Under hösten har kansliets personal tillsammans med klubbarna träffat/haft kontakt med kommunen i Örebro, Västerås, Uppsala, Bro, Botkyrka och Stockholm. Vi ser nu att det sker positiva saker på flera platser. I Uppsala och i Linköping har man haft invigning av en ny Cricketplan, i Botkyrka kommer man få nät i en hall vilket möjliggör inomhusträning och i Stockholm projekteras för 2 nya Cricketplaner samt upprustning av Gränby med ny pitch våren 2021.

Hej everyone!
2020 has been an incredibly productive year for Swedish Cricket and we are really excited to share what is happening with our national teams, our new logo and homepage, some details of our central projects as well as letting you what our new head coach Jonty Rhodes has been up to. 2021 is going to be massive! Are you with us?
News from the Board
We now leave 2020 behind us. A year that has seen many challenges yet has also delivered cricket in Sweden with some wonderfully positive news. For example a ECN tournament, ladies cup in Växjö and no doubt the employment of cricketing legend Jonty Rhodes. We have had new cricket ovals opened, a positive AGM with many important decisions and an array of new activities in our clubs that are forever growing.
Now we focus forward towards 2021. Cricket Sweden’s board have worked during the autumn with strategic plans and budgets for junior cricket, ladies cricket, SPL, UPL, national teams, ECN, youth and junior activities and grounds. Our league rules that must be approved by RF have been a high priority item.
Planning for senior league is in motion and the board has the ambition to upload the playing fixtures for 2021 circclubs app in january allowing our clubs ample time to book grounds.
In regards to the budget for senior league, Swedish Cricket have been warned that senior league cannot be finances by support from RF or ICC. The senior league must be self financed. We have had many meetings with ICC regarding this and in order to find solutions we have been forced to restructure the senior league with the goal to keep the costs to clubs to a minimum. The board of Swedish Cricket have accordingly decided to increase league fees for 2021 and we will be hosting an information meeting for all league matters in the middle of january.
The new league structure allows us to cover a large majority of the league costs without it impacting the clubs too much. Cricket Sweden have no choice in this regard otherwise the risk will be that we will not receive support from ICC and RF. We must be able to prove that we can self finance the senior league.
Cricket Sweden has received a decision from ICC that we will be receiving a heavily reduced support from ICC (500,000 SEK) for 2022, reason being that the board of 2018 did not use RF’s support correctly and were ordered to pay back support to RF. Meaning that a reduction in RF support equates to a reduction in support from ICC (ICC Scorecard criteria)
We are working constantly to secure sponsorship. A task that Jonty will have some responsibility for as well as helping the sport of cricket be more visiable in Sweden. Granted, in the current situation it is not an easy task, however we have had interest from a few interested parties that we will report once we have more concrete information.
Welcoming Jonty to Sweden
After relocating with his entire family, Jonty Rhodes is all set to work towards growing the game of cricket in Sweden.
SOME OF HIS TASKS INCLUDE:
• Leading the High Performance cricket team
• Driving an generating the process of national team together with our current national team coaches and RSM
• Planning a competition forum to assist in developing the game for all categories across Sweden
As well as a diverse amount of other tasks including extending our commercial networks, educational advice mm.
Jonty is grateful for our patience as he adjusts and finds a home for his family as well as managing his workload effectively.
National Team Pathways
The UPL is up and running after excellent work from staff and junior committee. 12 RSM have been appointed and our kick off is due to commence in January of the new year. RSM will be announced via the homepage shortly.
The SPL is being planned as the ICC qualification pools have been released for our national senior men’s team
We are collaborating with the nordics to create an international tournament for men, juniors and women (corona permitting)
Ladies activities are being outlined for 2021 with 3 domestic tournaments outlined and a vision to have more than 10 clubs with active ladies teams across Sweden

AGM 20th march 2021
Its time for our AGM on the 20th of march, 2021. All clubs who have been members and paid their membership fees prior to 20 August 2020 have the right to vote. All motions must be sent to SCF by 20th of January at the latest. All documentation will be presented on our new homepage 3 weeks prior to the AGM at the latest.
New logo and homepage
In the past months, we identified the need for a new logo solution and graphic profile. The logo represents a modern sports look, has a sense of movement/action, is easy to read and understand, displays professional design quality and in internationally applicable.
Together with an overhaul of a new homepage, set to launch in Q1 of 2021, we are excited to present Swedish Cricket’s new branding.
Invoices for membership fees
At the AGM 2020, the membership fees of 3000 SEK / club were decided upon. Invoice will be sent out to all clubs in the middle of January of the new year. The due date for payment will be middle of february.
COVID-19 and the possiblity to search for support for loss of income to clubs
Has your club had a loss of income during the period of 1/10 – 31/12 2020 for the reasons of cancelled activities or arrangements due to corona? If so you can search for compensation support from RM. This application is done on idrottonline under the title of Idrottsmedel. The application is open between 15/1 and 26/1. Decisions regarding compensation will be finalised by RF by the end of february.
Reports for project support and “come and try” activities due latest 15 January
Those clubs who have been provided with support for projects they applied for through idrottonline must provide an account for it by the 15th of january at the latest.Those clubs who have completed a “come and try” activity or a school project must account for them via the homepage using a document called “underlag för att rapportera prova-på aktiviteter”
Ladies Cricket
The women’s cricket committee have informed of their intention to hold a minimum of 3 regional tournaments during 2021
There is also a vision to have more than 10 clubs with women’s teams nationally across Sweden as well as a host of women’s coaches and umpiring courses and national team activities.
Grounds
Swedish Cricket are working strategically to influence and assist clubs create better opportunities to play cricket
During autumn, office employees together with clubs have had contact with councils in Örebro, Västerås, Uppsala, Bro, Botkyrka and Stockholm. We can conclude that positive things are happening in many places. In Uppsala and Linköping there has been a grand opening of a new cricket oval, in Botkyrka there will be indoor cricket facilities which will make indoor training possible and in Stockholm there are projections for 2 new cricket ovals and improvements in Gränby with a new pitch in spring of 2021.
